The Heart Behind the Deck

My name is Giannina Giovannini, and the inspiration behind Falling Feather was born from one of the most painful and transformative experiences of my life.

My parents traveled all the way from Chile to Belgium to celebrate my birthday—and my daughter's. What was meant to be a time of joy turned into an unimaginable loss. Shortly after their arrival, my father became suddenly ill. At the hospital, doctors discovered a brain tumor. During the biopsy, something went wrong, and we lost him.

We had only a few hours to say goodbye, to whisper our love before making the heartbreaking decision to let him go. Sixteen painful days passed before we could repatriate his body to Chile. What was meant to be a double birthday celebration became the most painful farewell imaginable.

When I returned to Belgium, the weight of grief began to settle deeply into my everyday life. In search of air and peace, I turned to nature. I walked, cried, and let the earth hold my tears. Slowly, I began to notice something comforting—the trees, the sky, the wind, the falling feathers along the path—all seemed to carry quiet messages about loss, love, renewal, and the invisible bond that continues even after someone is gone.

Through those moments, I discovered that beauty and softness can exist even in grief. Nature taught me that remembrance does not always need to feel heavy and dark; it can also feel gentle, warm, peaceful, and filled with love.

From that journey, Falling Feather was born.

Through my grief companion card deck, memorial templates, funeral prayer cards, and remembrance creations, my hope is to offer comfort to others navigating loss. Every product is designed with the intention of helping people create meaningful moments of remembrance while bringing a sense of tenderness, light, and emotional connection during difficult times.

Whether through words of healing, comforting designs, or personalized memorial keepsakes, each creation is made from a deeply personal place in my heart.
